RPI Official Screen

Post by editech » Fri Nov 04, 2016 10:07 pm

Hi,

I'm building a drum sampler (dumped my MPC1000 years ago) and am using RPi's official screen and U-Mate. Are there any plans for multitouch support? I would love to use gestures like pinching to mark in's and out's in the wave editor for example.

Cheers,

Jay

Hi editech,

You've raised a good yet tricky point. Currently we are married to FLTK, a cross-platform C++ GUI toolkit. We are kind of stuck in desktop land until they don't provide support for mobile OSes, which seems to be under development. Honestly I don't know if you can fake a multi-touch gesture with the current tools: maybe FLTK treats it like an unrecognized event and you just have to grab it and process it. Any help/input on that would be appreciated. :D

I get my screen back in a few days. My original one took a dive. I am on my 3rd operating system reinstall on my Pi3, Ubuntu Mate was too heavy for me so I'm going with Ubuntu LTE and i3. When I get my screen installed and new OS configured, I will touch base with the multi touch screen. Thanks for the reply.
