Hi folks!
Here's the thing. Of all music-oriented distros only KXStudio seems to provide an out-of-the-box Jack support, which is a must to me.
Now here's a major disappointment: Giada included with the most recent KXStudio (14.04.5) is very unstable, lacks features from recent video tutorials, well.. Sorry to say that but it's not really fit to use. Probably because it's old (0.11.2 upgradable to 0.14.5 from KXStudio repo).
So my question is if there is any way to use the most recent Giada on KXStudio... AppLauncher doesn't work as I explained in a bug report. Or maybe I should switch to some other OS? Any suggestions?

0.11.2 is too old
Moving to 0.14.5 it's definitely a good improvement. That said, the fastest route to play with the latest version is of course the AppImage.
If it doesn't work for you (but it should, we will find a way in the other thread), you can go with the Docker image: another way to build (and run) Giada in a protected environment, so that you can keep your main system clean. More information here: https://github.com/monocasual/giada-docker.

Is it imperative to run Giada in a protected environment, FFT? Or is that optional?
