Giada always crashes when loading sample

Hey guys,
I am a Giada newbe. Just wanted to try out working with the programm, but unfortunately it always crashes as soon as I try loading a sample.
So that is what I do: -> edit columns -> add sample channel -> load sample -> navigate to required sample file and click on it - then Giada crashes (closes without any warning/info/error).

Any idea what I am doing wrong?
I tried to download it a second time, but no change so far.
Maybe I am just missing an essential step, but I don't really know what that might be...
Looking forward to some ideas what to try

It would be for the best if you opened an issue on Giada GitHub page, but while we're at it, please tell something more about the environment you use. What is the operating system, sound system etc. I don't recall the behaviour that you report, so that would be interesting to get to the bottom of this.

Also, in "config" windows, Misc tab, enable logging to file or console, whichever you prefer, and see if there is anything related to your problem.
