Kudos, and a minor question+suggestion

Post by Stelpa » Sat Oct 19, 2013 3:07 am

Thank you SO MUCH for creating this program. I'm a musician, and with Sooperlooper in it's current state, and Freewheeling development at a complete halt, there were no looping programs that fit my needs on linux to speak of; then Giada comes along with a beautiful minimal interface and great workflow, and you have no idea how happy that made me. I can make looping music on linux again!

My minor question, btw: On my first use I was confused and thought that the "Load Left/Right channel" thing was literal, and that the left column would only play through my left speaker, and the right would only play through my right. I quickly discovered that was not the case (or is it? i'm confused!)... Could you add something about this to the docs, please?

Also, it'd be cool if this forum could add a section for music/jams made using Giada; it'd be fun, and make for good promotional material too also!

Other than that, I have nothing else to say but this: Please, keep up the good work! :D

Hi Stelpa/Allie,

Many many thanks for your kind kudos!
On my first use I was confused and thought that the "Load Left/Right channel" thing was literal, and that the left column would only play through my left speaker, and the right would only play through my right. I quickly discovered that was not the case (or is it? i'm confused!)
They just represent the left and the right side of the GUI, nothing else... We will definitely add some notes on our docs about it. By the way in the near future the "left/right" thing will go away, replaced by a multiple column layout (some thoughts here).
Also, it'd be cool if this forum could add a section for music/jams made using Giada; it'd be fun, and make for good promotional material too also!
Good idea!
