Latency

Post by Vagabond » Tue Dec 25, 2018 11:35 am

Hi,

I'm new here in giada and I hope you can help me with my problem.

I'm musician, playing trumpet, and I want to create loops by playing pieces for 4 trumpets just alone.

Now I think I understand how giada works and watched some tutorials but I have a Problem with latency.

When I turn on the metronome in giada and record me singing 1..2...3..4... on the click, it doesnt work well. When I listen to my recording, my singing is not on the click anymore.

I tryed to adjust the latency by changing "puffer size", "rec deplay comp." and "resamping" mode in the config menu, but it doesnt has an positiv effect.

What can I do?

thank you!

Alex

HI vagabond, latency is mainly about buffer size, so you should decrease it in order to minimize the delay. I don't know which OS you are using, it might be beneficial also if you try to change the main sound system - e.g. on Linux, switching from PulseAudio to JACK really makes the difference.

A little bit late but What's up, I had the same problem, I changed the "System" in the Configuration Menu-Sound system to WASAPI (don't remember if it's already installed on windows or I installed it whit Audacity). I hope It helps.
